Swift created original music inspired by the country music of performers like Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material was a reflection of Swift's experiences as a tween and the feeling of alienation. Swift's parents moved her to Tennessee when she was thirteen after they sold their Pennsylvania farm. This allowed Swift to be more active in trying to find labels that would promote country music in Nashville.
